Unit 1 Now You Try: Edit Profile
- Due No Due Date
- Points 1
- Submitting a file upload
Overview
The user profile is attached to any activity inside Canvas and is a great way to share information with your students. They will benefit from getting to know something about their instructors, and the profile also allows you to share some important information about the best way to contact you. Though information about your contact preferences is also likely in your syllabus, including it in your profile makes it easier for students to find.
Instructions
Click on "Account" at the top of the Canvas navigation menu to edit your SDSU Canvas profile. Add a brief bio that you are willing to share with students. When you are finished, take a screen capture of your profile page and submit that image to this assignment.
Other elements that you might consider adding to your profile (and remember, you have one profile which is shared across all of your activity in Canvas):
- A more detailed biography, to the extent that you are comfortable sharing.
- A few sentences that communicate your passion for your classes/subjects.
- A few sentences describing your approach to teaching and learning.
- Your preferred methods for communicating with students and your expectations for when you will reply to their questions/communications.
- A photograph or avatar - use of these can increase the feeling of community/presence in the online environment.
- Links to professional social media accounts or other websites.
Criteria for Assignment Completion
