Overview
An Announcement is a good tool to use to share important course news, especially if a meeting is being canceled or to note a change in a course activity. Students receive notifications of new Announcements based on their personalized preferences.
Announcements can be delayed so that they do not appear until a specified date, which means that you could reuse announcements for course events that reoccur each semester. (Students will not receive a notification of the new Announcement until the date and time it is posted.)
You can also set up delayed announcements to go out automatically during the semester as reminders before critical events.
Instructions
Create an Announcement in your course. (See Resources below for guidance if needed.)
Submit the URL for your announcement in your course. To do this, copy the URL (from the location bar of your browser) for the Announcement in your course. Then click the Submit button on this assignment (scroll up to the top of this assignment and look at the upper right). After clicking the Submit button, paste your course URL into 'Website URL' field. Then click the Submit Assignment button.
Criteria for Assignment Completion
- The URL you submit shows that you published an announcement in your course.
