Introduction
Regardless of your major or career objectives, the ability to analyze and interpret quantitative data, conduct research independently, and be able to present your ideas in a coherent and convincing way is a highly regarded skill in the job market. By the conclusion of this course, students will have developed and demonstrated effective research, analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills. Students will work independently in the preparation of a police department report. During the course students will also read and discuss criminal justice studies relevant to their final project. The professor will supervise students’ progress and help expand their skills by showing how to analyze and interpret data, use effective data visualization techniques, and how to craft a solid report.
