Seniors: Check if You are Ready to Graduate
To determine if you are ready to graduate, do not just look at the graphs at the top of the degree evaluation—there are 2 things that they do not capture about your requirements:
-
Additional PSY upper-division (UD) units needed to meet the 31-unit major minimum
- Students on the liberal and ADT paths need 14/15 additional UD PSY units
- Students on either Emphasis path need 5/6 additional UD PSY units
- The specific number you will need depends on which Methods course you took (if you took PSY 301, you will need the higher number of units listed above for your path whereas if you took PSY 410, you will need the lower number of units listed for your path)
-
Upper-division unit minimum requirement or residence units beyond the 120-unit minimum
-
if you have already (or are in progress to) reach the 120 overall unit minimum, the graphs will not represent if you need more upper-division coursework in particular or further units taken "in residence" at SDSU.
-
How to check that you are in fact enrolled in all of the courses needed to graduate:
There is an easy way to check that you are enrolled in all of the courses needed to graduate.
-
Rerun your degree evaluation
After you register for the courses that you think will complete your degree requirements, re-run your degree evaluation and look for confirmation that you are in all needed courses.
-
Look below the graphs
but before the text portion of your degree evaluation begins (e.g., before you see either Legal Name or Diploma Name).
-
-
If you see "ALL REQUIREMENTS COMPLETED - IN-PROGRESS COURSES USED" as highlighted by the purple box in the image below then you all are set to finish degree requirements, assuming successful completion of any IP courses.
-
-
-
However, if you see "AT LEAST ONE REQUIREMENT HAS NOT BEEN SATISFIED" in red font as shown below, then you may need additional courses, units and/or to meet GPA criteria in order to graduate.
