Academic Support Resources

Utilizing Campus Resources

Depending on your situation, one or more of the following campus resources may help with addressing your academic challenges. We encourage you to pursue all avenues that may help support you.

Academic Resources

  • If you are experiencing difficulty in a course that offers supplemental instruction Links to an external site. (e.g., PSY 101), be sure to attend SI sessions to receive additional support for the course.
  • We also encourage attending office hours and speaking with the professor and/or TA to receive feedback on how you can improve in the course. Most teaching assistants and professors are supportive and interested in fostering your success.
  • Although our office does not offer tutoring services, certain students may have access to tutors for some Psychology classes (e.g., student-athletes, EOP). Creating study groups with students in your class is often another method of increasing your engagement in course material.
  • Take advantage of the Writing Center Links to an external site. and Math & Stats Learning Center Links to an external site., if applicable.
  • For students interested in pursuing a pre-health program (e.g., dentistry, medical school), we encourage you to connect with the Health Professions Advising Office Links to an external site.

  • Economic Crisis Response Team (ECRT) Links to an external site. ECRT supports students through crisis by leveraging a campus-wide collaboration that utilizes on and off-campus partnerships and provides direct referrals based on each student’s unique circumstances. ECRT empowers students to identify and access short- and long-term, sustainable solutions in an effort to successfully graduate from SDSU."
  • CARES (Campus Assistance, Response, Evaluation and Support) Team Links to an external site. "helps provide support and resources to students going through challenges. They address concerns about students experiencing or causing distress that interferes with learning, development, and success, and ensure that they are connected to appropriate resources. Examples include addressing issues that may present barriers to students' personal and academic success, such as food and housing insecurity, emotional distress, health concerns, or other personal challenges.
